TICE.PT met with the Director General and Scientific Coordinator of CiTin

On March 13th, the TICE.PT met with the General Director and Scientific Coordinator of CiTin – Center for Industrial Technological Interface – at its facilities in Arcos de Valdevez.

CiTin is a Technology and Innovation center, recognized by the Ministry of the Sea, with intervention at a national level and with the main objective of accelerating the process of technology transfer to Industry with a focus on the person. Strongly committed to sowing innovation, always in complementarity and never in overlap, they aim to be an instrument for the establishment of industry in the region, promoting a positive impact on job creation. The most important areas of activity are in the Automotive, Textile and Naval sectors.

TICE.PT presented its innovation ecosystem, particularly its work at Gaia-X and IDSA (International Data Spaces Association), and the relevance of data in an industrial and digital transformation context.

During the meeting, a visit was made to the two laboratories of CiTin: Digital Manufacturing and Intelligent Systems, where there was a demonstration of several ongoing projects in the areas of advanced production systems, cyber-physical systems and in the mobility and environment industries.

It was also time to visit the facilities of Learning Factories, which is part of the EIT Manufacturing Community and whose laboratory is equipped for "hands-on" training at the manufacturing industry level.
